Do your children know what marketing professionals do?
For most, the answer is ‘probably not’; we don’t have the easiest jobs to explain.
Under my guise of Marketer Mum I’ve devised a 6 activities to help children become ‘Mini Marketers’. It’s all part of my drive to help more people understand and feel confident doing strategic marketing. All activities can be done at home. Once complete, children can add their names to a certificate congratulating them on becoming a ‘Mini Marketer’.
What’s included
- 6 printable activity worksheets
- A printable ‘Mini Marketer’ certificate
- An editable Canva template for those who want to go digital.
What they’ll learn
- Portfolio analysis: Which summer activities to put in their wishlist based on cost and fun factor.
- Persona development: How to understand who they’re talking to before spending 6 weeks with them.
- Market research: How to use data and visualisations to answer questions.
- Customer journey mapping: How marketers engage at different stages of the buyer journey.
- Marketing Strategy: Make a no-bake cheesecake to demonstrate the importance of a firm base and the right mix of ingredients to marketing success.
- Marketing metrics: Build their imagination or set up a shop and think about the reach they need to have to achieve sales.
Parental benefits
- Precious screen-free activity options if using the printable worksheets
- An answer to those ‘I’m bored’ moments
- A new appreciation of what you do all day (may be wishful thinking)
- More harmonious sibling relationships (this one is definitely a stretch)
Please note, I am not a qualified teacher and these worksheets are not endorsed by any educational body.
For guidance, the worksheets are likely to be most suitable for 6-11 year olds, but the activities can be adapted for any age.
