Cardiff Business Club: Vikki Heywood CBE,  Royal Society of Arts Chairman

When? Monday 23rd April, 6.15pm

What? ‘Vikki Heywood CBE was appointed for a second three year term as Royal Society of Arts (RSA) Chairman at the AGM in October 2015, the first time ever that the Chairman has been invited to remain. Previously, she was the Executive Director of the Royal Shakespeare Company (RSC), a position from which she stepped down in 2013.

‘Since leaving the RSC she has taken on the Chairmanship of The RSA, The Warwick Commission on the Future of Cultural Value which published January 2015, Mountview Drama Academy and the five year First World War Centenary Arts Commissioning Programme, “14-18 Now”.  She is also on the Board of the National Theatre.

‘Prior to her appointment at the RSC, Vikki was Joint Chief Executive of the Royal Court Theatre, the country’s foremost theatre for the development of new writing. At both the RSC and the Royal Court she was responsible for their two multiple million pound capital projects which transformed two iconic theatre buildings in London and Stratford Upon Avon.

‘Previously she has been a board member of the Society of London Theatre, The London 2012 Cultural Olympiad, the Coventry and Warwickshire Local Enterprise Partnership and a member of Warwick University Council as well as a number of theatre boards.

‘She was awarded an honorary doctorate from the University of Birmingham, becoming a Doctor of Letters in December 2009 and was awarded a CBE in the Queen’s Birthday Honours in 2012 for services to theatre.’

Zokit: Cardiff Networking Breakfast & FREE Health Club Day Pass

When? Wednesday 25th April, 7.30am

What? ‘Zokit is a business development network spanning Cardiff, Vale of Glamorgan, Bridgend and now RCT. We host refreshingly different networking events, master classes, awards and expos.

‘We start with a delicious buffet / continental / cereal breakfast from 7.30am till approx 8.15am. Over breakfast each business owner is able to give a short introduction of who they are, what benefit their business offers and who they are looking to connect to. Following breakfast, you have an opportunity to choose who you’d like to have your 3 one to one’s with.

‘From approx 8.15am, the breakfast sponsor is able to share a 15 / 20 min presentation on how their business is able to add value and benefit others. This can consist of a product, service, speaker or business education slot. There will be an opportunity to answer any questions following the presentation.

‘From approx 8.45am – we will start the one to ones. We look to finish no later than 9.30am.’

Welsh Business Show & Networking Breakfast

When? Thursday 26th April, 8am-10am – Welsh Business Show commences 10am

From 10am: ‘Join over 100 businesses exhibiting and 600 businesses visiting The Welsh Business Show Cardiff 2017 held at the Cardiff City Stadium. The show will mark the 15th Welsh Business Show and the first of the three 2018 shows which will be followed by Carmarthenshire in July and Swansea in October. The shows have been established since 2010 and have grown to be Wales’ Largest Business Exhibition attracting thousands of businesses over the three shows. Free to attend, the shows have gained the reputation as Wales’ premier business shows so join us on April 26th and connect with hundreds of businesses over this one day spectacular event.’
